Amazon Prime Video postpones the release of The Family Man 2 after brouhaha over Mirzapur and Tandav

Following the beguiling brouhaha over two of its major series Mirzapur and Tandav, Amazon Prime Video has decided to indefinitely postpone the release of their next Big Fat Indian Series.  The Family Man Season 2 which was to stream from February 12 stands postponed for now. The trailer which was to release on January 19 will now be out closer to the new streaming date, whenever that may be.

Amazon Prime Video postpones the release of The Family Man 2 after brouhaha over Mirzapur and Tanda

Confirming this saddening development, a source very close to the project tells me, “It is true. The Family Man Season 2 has been postponed indefinitely, much to the disappointment  of Manoj Bajpayee and the co-director Raj-DK. The reason is, the brand Amazon has taken a beating in India with two of their most successful shows Mirzapur and  Tandav coming under the scanner for allegedly hurting popular sentiments. Amazon doesn’t feel the atmosphere is  conducive to the release of a big franchise like The Family Man.”

But The Family Man  has no controversial content at all?

Responds the source, “You  know that. I know that. But who knows what triggers off  an adverse reaction in the public? Amazon would rather wait for a more opportune time  to  release an important show like The Family Man.”

The source also adds that the co-director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have nothing to do with the  postponement. “Raj and DK have delivered the full series of  the second season  of  The Family Man  to Amazon. They have  nothing  to do with  the decision  to  hold back the series. As far as Raj and DK are concerned the series is ready for streaming whenever Amazon decides to do so. The co-directors have no intention of modifying anything in  the  second season because there is nothing even remotely objectionable in the  series.”

"Mohinder Amarnath was my dad's favorite cricketer" - says Saqib Saleem

Saqib Saleem, who is giving finishing touches to his performance in what is undoubtedly 2020's most anticipated film - '83,  is absolutely excited to play Mohinder Amarnath in the upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer. But the reason is not just limited to him being part of this iconic project but for what it means to him personally. Talking about wanting to be a cricketer growing up, Saqib says, "Doing '83 was almost like an act of fate. I grew up playing cricket wanting to go pro. I played State level U-19 but that was that. When I decided to become an actor, I knew that life was going to take a whole new path. When I heard about Kabir sir casting for 83, I chased him to ensure I was able to atleast audition." Saqib didn't just have a cricketing connection with '83, but also a solid connection with the character he plays - the man of the match of the '83 World Cup finals - Mohinder aka Jimmy Amarnath. Says Saqib, "Mohinder Amarnath was my father...

Nora Fatehi turns up the heat with Marjaavaan's new song Ek Toh Kum Zindagani!

Nora Fatehi turns up the heat with Marjaavaan's new song Ek Toh Kum Zindagani! Nora Fatehi's sizzling dance moves in chartbusters including 'Dilbar' ( Satyameva Jayate ) and 'Saki Saki' ( Batla House ) among others has made her a household name in a short span of time. The gorgeous actress, who wants to create a niche for herself as a talented actress, has been focusing more on performance-oriented roles, like last seen in Batla House starring John Abraham. Interestingly, one of the major reasons why Nora agreed to do the song 'Ek Toh Kum Zindagani' in Marjaavaan without charging any money is because she feels obliged to filmmaker Nikkhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar who offered her the song 'Dilbar' in Satyameva Jayate, considered to be a turning point in her career. Nora has always been grateful and humbled by the opportunity Nikkhil Advani and Bhushan Kumar have given her with both 'Dilbar' and 'Saki Saki' and s...
