Ajay Devgn - Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s BAIJU BAWRA?

Ajay Devgn - Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s BAIJU BAWRA?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s decision to go into his next project, a remake of the 1952 classic Baiju Bawra has aroused a whole lot healthy curiosity in the audience. That it would be a musical opus in the grand style of Bhansali’s Devdas goes without saying. The question is who would play the two main protagonists, the musical legend Tansen and the protégée Baiju, who outdoes his mentor thereby incurring his mentor’s jealous wrath. Ajay Devgn - Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s BAIJU BAWRA Sources say Bhansali has offered the parts of the mentor and pupil to Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. While Ranveer is fine with playing the passionate musical prodigy Baiju, Devgn apparently has reservations about playing the legendary Tansen. Sources say he has been there, done it before. “In Vipul Shah’s London Dreams in 2009 Devgn played the jealous musician who feels threatened by his friend Salman Khan’s talent. Devgn is not keen to be seen in the space again,” says an informed source. In the original Baiju Bawra in 1952, Surendra had played Tansen and Bharat Bhushan had played Baiju. The Oscar-winning Hollywood film Amadeus is also based on the same story of two talented musicians, the mentor being outdistanced by the pupil. The challenge for Sanjay Bhansali is to create a semi-classical music score to rival Naushad’s monumental score in Baiju Bawra. The original had imperishable classic songs like ‘Tu Ganga Mauj Main Jamuna Ka Dhara’, ‘Oh Duniya Ke Rakhwale’, ‘Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj’ and ‘Bachpan Ki Mohabbat Ko’.

Nora Fatehi turns up the heat with Marjaavaan's new song Ek Toh Kum Zindagani!

Nora Fatehi turns up the heat with Marjaavaan's new song Ek Toh Kum Zindagani! Nora Fatehi's sizzling dance moves in chartbusters including 'Dilbar' ( Satyameva Jayate ) and 'Saki Saki' ( Batla House ) among others has made her a household name in a short span of time. The gorgeous actress, who wants to create a niche for herself as a talented actress, has been focusing more on performance-oriented roles, like last seen in Batla House starring John Abraham. Interestingly, one of the major reasons why Nora agreed to do the song 'Ek Toh Kum Zindagani' in Marjaavaan without charging any money is because she feels obliged to filmmaker Nikkhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar who offered her the song 'Dilbar' in Satyameva Jayate, considered to be a turning point in her career. Nora has always been grateful and humbled by the opportunity Nikkhil Advani and Bhushan Kumar have given her with both 'Dilbar' and 'Saki Saki' and s...

Deepika Padukone keen on doing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra opposite Ranveer Singh; Bhansali still in favour of casting Alia Bhatt

Deepika Padukone has set her heart on doing a fourth film with her husband Ranveer Singh for epic filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She has already worked in three film with Bhansali ( Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani  and  Padmaavat ) and Bhansali wants a change (we don’t know about Ranveer). The epic filmmaker has therefore zeroed in on his Gangubai Kathiawadi heroine Alia Bhatt opposite Ranveer in his next director  Baiju Bawra. “The heroine for  Baiju Bawra is not final. It’s likely to be Alia Bhatt. She read the script and offered to do the film for free .Deepika was also keen to do  Gangubai Kathiawadi . But at that point of time, Bhansali wanted Alia only. Now Deepika has her heart set on Baiju Bawra . She insists only she can play the role Meena Kumari played in the original,” a source very close to the projects informs us. Bhansali, though impressed by Deepika’s determination, is still in favour of casting Alia, But what if Deepika gives her husband an u...
